The importance of physical touch for our mental health

Swedish Radio has recently highlighted a study from Science that confirms the importance of physical touch for our mental health, something that may be worth keeping in mind as we gradually scale back on physical encounters with digitalisation and pandemics.

Listen to this clip from Vetenskapsradion News when Helena Backlund Wasling, associate professor of neurophysiology at the University of Gothenburg, explains how the signals from the skin's cells and nerve fibres are sent to the brain.
